Campus Locator Services -- Wednesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 22 All Over Campus
During the first two days of classes, volunteers are needed in two hour shifts to help students find their way around campus. Campus maps and other informational resources are provided for volunteers.
While the volunteers will be spread out across campus, there will be seven central locations staffed by volunteers where information will be stored -- South Oval by Enarson Hall, College Road North of the Oval, 17th & Neil, 12th & Neil, Woodruff Avenue near Neilwood Gables, and the Carmack parking lots. If you have a preferred location at which you would like to be stationed, please indicate that preference below, and we will make every effort to assign you there. We just need to ensure that every location is staffed adequately at all times.
Have a friend you would like to volunteer with? Let us know so that we can match you! Are you part of a student org that would like to staff a booth for a specific part of the day? No problem! Again, just let us know so that we can work with you to make arrangements.
To volunteer for Campus Locator Services, please fill out and submit the form below. Questions can be directed to Carrie Miller.
Convocation -- Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. John Arena
The Office of First Year Experience seeks faculty, staff, and students to fill a number of volunteer roles. There are two ways to volunteer for Convocation 2013.
1. Volunteer as a greeter and program distributor. We need help distributing "goodie" bags and programs to the new students as they arrive for Convocation. We also need volunteers to help students find seats and answer general questions. These volunteers are asked to check in at the arena by 9:00 a.m. on the morning of the event. This commitment lasts until approximately 11:00 a.m.
2. Cheer at the stadium. Cheerers are asked to report to the north end of the stadium by 11:15 a.m. on the morning of the event. Cheerers are going to cheer for the new students as they process from the Convocation through the Stadium to the buses for Columbus Welcome. This commitment lasts until approximately 12:30 p.m.
To volunteer for Convocation, RSVP by August 1 to convocation@osu.edu with your shift availability. You will receive your volunteer assignment and more details shortly thereafter.
